Tram Tango
The Tram Tango for Basel and Geneva is a metre-gauge urban rail vehicle with 75 % low floor space. After delivery of four pre-series vehicles to Baselland Transport AG (BLT), the BLT Executive Board gave the go-ahead for 15 series-production vehicles due to the satisfactory progression of the test phase.
32 of these modern coaches have been in use on the public transport network in the Geneva region since 2011. In contrast to the Basel design, the Geneva Tangos for Transports Publics Genevois (TPG) are being built as bi-directional trains.
SBF is supplying the complete LED-illuminated ceiling system using innovative plastic technology for both design variations.
Munich Tram
As part of modernisation project spanning around three years, IFTEC GmbH & Co. KG in Leipzig is refurbishing a total of 50 Munich trams of type GT6N.
Amongst other measures, the vehicle are getting completely new interiors with an SBF ceiling system.
Avenio The Hague
Siemens presents the Avenio – its new 100-percent low-floor vehicle, which is being used in The Hague for the first time.
At 35 metres long, the tram can seat 70 passengers with standing room for 168 and reaches speeds of up to 80 km/h. The tram is extremely economical thanks to the low cost of maintenance and spare parts, plus energy savings of 30 percent.
SBF Spezialleuchten GmbH has integrated energy-saving and low-maintenance interior lighting using LED technology in the vehicles.
