Talent 2

The Talent 2 is a family of multiple units delivered by Bombardier Transportation.

The aerodynamic electric trains reach speeds of up to 160km/h, are comfortably furnished and based on a modular design concept. According to the individual requirements of the customer, the vehicles can be used as suburban railway or in the local transport.

The company provides the three-, four- and five-part vehicles (series STS, RME, MD2, NGM) with ceiling systems made of steel and air ducting systems.

RhB Albula

The Albula stretch of the Rhaetian railway lies in the Swiss canton of Grisons and, with its 144 bridges and 42 tunnels, it is one of the most spectacular metre-gauge railways in the world.

To make the long train journey through alternating complete darkness and bright daylight easier for the passengers, the seven new articulated trains are being fitted with LED dynamic lighting developed by SBF. With external sensors, the interior lighting automatically adjusts to the external light conditions and thus keeps the human biorhythm in balance.

BT Double-Decker Coaches, 4th Generation

Bombardier"s double-decker regional trains are among the most successful regional train series. Deutsche Bahn is the largest client for this design.

Luggage carriers from SBF with illuminated glass panes create a much greater feeling of space in these trains through indirect lighting of the ceiling. The luggage carriers also act as emergency lighting in battery operation.
The LED tail lights keep maintenance costs low.

Client: Bombardier Transportation GmbH
Project: Full-LED wide area lighting with homogenous light panels and illuminated luggage carriers

Double-Decker Trains (Westbahn, RE, RV and BLS)

The Stadler DOSTO, since 2011 also known as the Stadler KISS, is a four or six-section double-decker multiple-unit train for regional and intercity travel.

The Austrian firm Westbahn is currently operating seven units of the intercity design. The six-section trains have a capacity of 501 seats and the top speed is 200 km/h. The design variation for BLS in Switzerland has 336 seats and a top speed of 160 km/h.
The auxiliary lighting for all four train designs utilises SBF LED spotlights.

Project: Complete auxiliary lighting using LED technolog

NExT RBS Bern – Solothurn

The electric low-floor multiple-unit train developed and produced by Stadler for regional and suburban rail systems is being used on the Swiss regional Bern-Solothurn line.

The logo at the front of the train is illuminated using SBF LED technology. Design-oriented ceiling lights from SBF complement the interior space.

Double-Decker Trains, Generation Do2010

In January 2009, DB AG signed a contract with Bombardier for the delivery of 800 double-decker coaches of the latest generation Do2010 for regional and intercity travel.

In addition to the familiar standard and control cars, the delivery also included a motorised central coach. Homogenous LED panel lights, luggage carriers with illuminated glass panes and a design-oriented marker light system from SBF create a modern look.
