Dynamic Lighting

Reference projects: ICE T, RhB Albula

For the dynamic lighting a unique lighting technique is used, which artificially emulates the daylight progression in the train by means of LEDs. By mixing warm white, neutral und cold white LEDs, the colour temperature and colour intensity can be modified as desired and with no transition (tunable white). This is controlled either with pre-programmed software with the settings for sunrise and sunset or with a light sensor, which measures current outside brightness and light colour. As such, the interior lighting adapts not only to daylight but also to weather, season and temperature. Additionally, there is a tunnel programme, which increases/reduces the brightness before and in the tunnel in order to make the transition from daylight to darkness and vice versa as comfortable as possible for the passenger. The company is the first to fit the main lighting of rail vehicles in tunable white in accordance with DIN EN 13272. Moreover, the option is available to work with full colour functionality (RGB) in order to create various light scenarios, whereby the lighting standards are always observed.

LED light panel with illuminated luggage carrier

This full LED system with integrated emergency lighting consists of three main components – luggage carrier, luggage carrier flap and light panels. The luggage carrier flap that slopes toward the passenger sits between the light panels and the luggage rack. It consists of an aluminium profile, on which the reading lights and applicable electronic components are mounted. The front is faced with plastic covers. The panel lights and the glass pane of the luggage carrier are illuminated indirectly by specially designed LED strip lights. The LED strip lights on the luggage carrier are fully enclosed and, thus, hermetically sealed. The lighting for the passenger area is realised by means of diffuse squares in the glass shelves. The patented technology of the evenly radiating LED general lighting is achieved by an extruded aluminium reflector coated with a special film.

Luggage carrier flap

Reference project: Velaro D, Velaro Eurostar

This flap forms the lining for the luggage rack that slopes toward the passenger with integrated direct and indirect general lighting using optimised T5 fluorescent technology. The lighting reflector is designed to direct most of the light to the seats and an indirect amount to the vehicle ceiling. The extruded aluminium profile designed as the base for the components houses freely positionable LED reading lights, reservation displays and a service call button in a specifically provided channel. An extruded PC cover seals the channel against dust. All control elements have capacitive, non-contact sensors.

Ceiling-mounted lighting system

Reference project: RBS

This modular lighting strip system with indirect T5 general lighting, plus white and coloured LED spotlights for seat lighting and passenger area accents is installed in the centre of the vehicle's ceiling. It consists of one light module made from aluminium sheet with integrated T5 lamps and electronic ballasts. The associated extruded aluminium profile lighting cover is complemented by two optimised, prismatic polycarbonate covers. The system illuminates the vehicle ceiling evenly along the whole length of the railcar. The lighting system's other components include camera modules, noise microphones, sprinkler nozzles and loudspeakers.
