In order to make the rich industrial history and the innovative companies in the economic region of Leipzig perceptible, the association Industriekultur Leipzig e. V. was inviting to the fifth “days of industrial culture”. On this long weekend, more than 5,000 visitors had the great choice of 214 events at 101 locations. Along the particularly popular route “open factory gate”, guided tours were offered by companies belonging to the manufacturing industry.

The SBF Spezialleuchten GmbH also took advantage of this opportunity to open its doors to interested visitors. On the 10th of August 2017, the company invited to a one-hour company tour. In addition to the administrative sector, the development and production area gave a first impression of the work flows, the work environment and product diversity.

The range of services provided by the SBF covers all product development steps from planning to the complex system. An insight into the in-house light and electronics laboratory made the importance of thorough lighting planning comprehensible. After a short glimpse into the design office, the implementation towards the final product became visible in the areas for assembly, adhesive technology and forming.
